Experience in Service Cloud Data Migration Using Prodly

CWS Consulting successfully executed a high-volume data migration to Salesforce Service Cloud, transferring 25 years of case history, emails, messages, customer records, and communications. This complex migration required meticulous planning, advanced data transformation strategies, and the use of Prodly, a powerful DevOps tool for Salesforce, to ensure a seamless and accurate transition.


The primary challenge was migrating a vast dataset of customer interactions, including structured and unstructured data, while preserving historical integrity and maintaining relationships between records. To address this, we developed a multi-stage migration framework that leveraged Prodly for metadata deployment, automated data validation, and phased record imports to prevent data corruption and ensure consistency across systems.


Key Deliverables

  • End-to-End Case History Migration: Successfully moved over 220,000 cases, including all associated email threads, attachments, and customer messages, ensuring full traceability in Service Cloud.
  • Customer & Communication Data Mapping: Migrated and restructured customer profiles, past interactions, and related service communications, ensuring seamless continuity in case handling.
  • Prodly-Based Automation & Deployment: Utilized Prodly DevOps for Salesforce to automate metadata and configuration deployments, ensuring a smooth transition of workflows, automations, and custom objects.
  • Multi-Phase Data Migration Strategy: Implemented a staged migration with rigorous testing, ensuring data accuracy before final cutover, reducing downtime and mitigating risks.
  • Custom Data Integrity Validation: Designed validation scripts and reconciliation processes to ensure that all migrated data matched legacy system records, maintaining reporting accuracy and compliance.
